Willow sat in a chair in the corner, scribbling notes in a leather journal, frantically. Then walls were covered by strange plants in bottles and baskets, and various charts, ranging from anatomy to fourth and fifth dimensional shapes. Willow would hear a knock on their front door. The knock is somewhat rhythmic, but they don't recognize the song.
"Hrm. Wasn't... expecting anyone.. guess visitors don't hurt!" She walks up the door, swinging it open. There's a woman standing there, smiling. She's holding a bunch of bright pink pamphlets, and her hair is black with blue parts. She's also wearing a tank top, jeans, and boots.
"Hi!" Says the woman.
"Why, hello!" Willow replies, "If you're asking me to join the later day saints.. er.."
"Nope, I'm asking you to join a LARP that's happening in three days!" She hands Willow a pamphlet, still smiling. Her smile is somewhat unsettling, feeling like it's a little too wide to be human.
"Huh. Sure? Oh! And would you like a cookie? I just baked some-" Willow runs and grabs a cookie, looking at the pamphlet at the same time. She arrives back at the door, holding the cookie out but staring down at the pamphlet, "So.. what.. exactly is this..?"
"It's a LARP event revolving around a fictional cult!" She tilts her head, still smiling.
"Hrm. And that's one of those.. right, it stands for 'Live Action Role Play?'" Willow asks, "I didn't know that.. this was how initiation worked."
"Yeah! It's also part ARG so there's mysteries to solve!"
"Mysteries?! What kind?" her voice raises almost an octave, seemingly excited.
"Puzzles, geocaches, stuff like that!"
"Hm. Ok... Why is it in binary?"
"For fun, for flavor!"
"Flavor.. I like you, you're fun!" Willow starts putting the pamphlet into a decoder, fumbling with phone and occasionally glancing back up at them.
